Practitioner-Only Herbal Medicine
Why a formula made for you is a different thing entirely to a product made for everybody.

Herbal medicine is one of the oldest forms of care we have, and one of the most personal. In clinical practice, the difference between a retail product and a practitioner-only formulation usually comes down to one thing: who it was made for.
What “practitioner-only” means
Practitioner-only products are supplied through qualified practitioners rather than sold on retail shelves. Access requires professional qualifications, and the practitioner takes responsibility for what is chosen, at what strength, and for how long.
The same herb can be entirely appropriate for one person and not the right choice for another.
Individually formulated
Rather than reaching for a single finished product, Sarah may compound an individualised liquid herbal formula — a small number of herbs chosen for your presentation, your history and what else you are taking. Formulas are reviewed and adjusted over time as things change.
The ranges Sarah uses
Where clinically appropriate, Sarah works with respected professional ranges including MediHerb, the Herbal Extract Company and Integria Healthcare.
Safety comes first
Herbs are active. That is precisely why they are useful, and precisely why interactions, medications, pregnancy, breastfeeding and existing conditions all need to be considered before anything is prescribed.
Common questions
What does practitioner-only herbal medicine mean?
Practitioner-only products are supplied through qualified practitioners rather than sold on retail shelves. Access requires professional qualifications, and the formulation is chosen for the individual person in front of the practitioner.
How is it different from herbs I can buy at the supermarket?
Retail products are formulated for a broad audience. Practitioner-only ranges are selected by a practitioner based on your case, and may be individually compounded into a liquid formula rather than supplied as a one-size-fits-all product.
Which ranges does Sarah have access to?
Sarah holds practitioner access to professional ranges including MediHerb, the Herbal Extract Company and Integria Healthcare, alongside a compounding dispensary for individualised liquid herbal formulas.
Is herbal medicine safe with my medications?
Herbs can interact with medications, which is why Sarah asks about every medication and supplement you take, and will always encourage collaboration with, or referral to, your medical practitioner where appropriate.
