Naturopathic Care

Your body is always communicating.

Naturopathy can help us slow down, listen to those signals, investigate what may be contributing to them, and create a personalised path forward.

Sarah, qualified naturopath and founder of Wild Wellness with Sarah
Your Naturopath

Meet Sarah

Sarah is a qualified naturopath who completed her Diploma of Health Science before earning her Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathic Medicine) at Torrens University Australia. She is a member of the Naturopaths & Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA) and the Australian Naturopathic Practitioners Association (ANPA).

Her approach is compassionate, thorough and individualised. Sarah believes symptoms can be a valuable form of communication from the body — information worth understanding rather than something to simply push through or ignore.

Consultations are deliberately unhurried, designed to give you the time and space to tell your whole health story. Sarah wants you to feel heard rather than rushed.

Naturopathic care is intended to sit alongside — never replace — the care of your GP or specialist. Where medical assessment is needed, Sarah will always encourage it and is happy to work collaboratively with your existing healthcare team.

Sarah’s Philosophy

Your body is communicating.
Let’s learn how to listen.

A consultation shouldn’t feel like a quick appointment where you list your symptoms and leave with a generic supplement plan. Sarah’s approach is to slow the process down and look at you as a whole person.

Sometimes fatigue, digestive changes, skin changes, pain, poor sleep, menstrual symptoms or simply feeling “not quite right” are pieces of a much larger health picture.

Naturopathic care gives us the opportunity to explore those pieces together, notice patterns and consider what may deserve further investigation.

You are allowed to take your health seriously. You are allowed to ask why you don’t feel like yourself.

A Thorough Case History

What naturopathic care may explore

Every person is different, so no two consultations look the same. Depending on what you’ve come in with, Sarah may explore:

  • Current symptoms and health concerns
  • Health history and symptom timeline
  • Nutrition and eating patterns
  • Digestion and gut health
  • Menstrual and reproductive health, where relevant
  • Sleep
  • Stress and emotional wellbeing
  • Energy and fatigue
  • Skin health
  • Lifestyle, work and daily rhythm
  • Medications and supplements
  • Pathology and previous test results
  • Environmental and other contributing factors
The Consultation

What happens when we work together

01

We listen

Your first consultation begins with your story. Sarah takes the time to understand what has been happening, when it started and what else may have changed along the way.

02

We connect the pieces

Rather than looking at each symptom in isolation, Sarah explores patterns across nutrition, digestion, hormones, sleep, stress, energy, skin, lifestyle and health history.

03

We investigate when appropriate

Existing pathology may be reviewed, and additional conventional or functional pathology may be discussed where it is clinically relevant.

04

We create your plan

Recommendations may include personalised nutrition, lifestyle medicine, herbal medicine, nutritional support and gentle wellbeing practices appropriate to you as an individual.

05

We review and adapt

Health is not static. Follow-up consultations allow Sarah to assess progress, answer questions and adjust the plan where necessary.

Naturopathic assessment and supportive care are intended to form part of a broader healthcare approach. Sarah does not diagnose or treat disease, and will refer to or collaborate with your GP or specialist where medical assessment is appropriate.

Functional Pathology

Looking a little deeper, when it’s useful.

Where it is clinically appropriate, Sarah has practitioner access to NutriPATH Integrative Pathology Services.

Functional pathology looks at how the body is functioning — patterns, markers and processes — rather than only whether something has reached the threshold of a diagnosis. It can be a way of gathering more information about a particular area of your health instead of relying on symptoms alone.

Testing is not automatically required for everybody. Sarah first takes a thorough case history and reviews any results you already have, then considers whether testing is likely to provide genuinely useful information for you.

Gut & Microbiome Testing

A closer look at the ecosystem living in your digestive tract.

Comprehensive microbiome assessment examines the microbial community of the gastrointestinal tract alongside a range of digestive functional markers. Depending on the profile selected, NutriPATH's Complete Microbiome Mapping can look at microbial diversity and richness, beneficial flora, opportunistic organisms, bacterial pathogens, fungi, parasites and helminths, and H. pylori.

Functional digestive markers may include short-chain fatty acids, calprotectin, pancreatic elastase, secretory IgA, zonulin, beta-glucuronidase, steatocrit and faecal pH.

Hormone Testing

Information about hormone patterns and how hormones are metabolised.

NutriPATH offers advanced hormone profiles including EndoMAP, EndoSTAT, EndoSCAN and AdrenoSCAN. Depending on the profile, these can examine areas such as estrogen and progesterone metabolites, androgens, testosterone, DHEA, cortisol and cortisone patterns, and in some profiles melatonin and selected organic-acid markers.

Sarah selects hormone testing based on your individual presentation, rather than ordering the same panel for everybody.

Nutritional & Metabolic Assessment

A broad functional picture of nutritional and metabolic health.

Nutri-STAT is a comprehensive functional assessment which, where clinically relevant, can provide information across nutritional status, essential fatty acids, minerals and metals, amino acids, organic acids, metabolic pathways, mitochondrial energy production, antioxidant requirements and other functional nutritional markers.

In everyday language: it can help Sarah consider whether there are nutritional or biochemical patterns worth exploring as part of your overall picture.

Not sure whether you need testing?

You don’t need to decide before your appointment. Sarah can discuss whether pathology is appropriate after taking your health history.

Education

The gut microbiome

The gastrointestinal tract is home to a complex ecosystem of microorganisms. A healthy microbiome contributes to important metabolic, protective and structural functions throughout the digestive system and beyond.

Much of that work happens through microbial fermentation. Short-chain fatty acids such as butyrate, acetate and propionate are produced when microbes ferment dietary fibres, and are associated with functions including maintaining the intestinal environment and supporting the integrity of the gut barrier.

The microbiome is also responsive. It can be influenced by many factors including diet, medication use, stress and environmental exposures — which is part of why digestive health is so rarely about one single thing.

This is slow, considered work — not a thirty-day fix.

Herbal Medicine

Practitioner-only herbal medicine, formulated for you.

Where clinically appropriate, Sarah uses professional practitioner-only herbal medicines and formulations. She holds practitioner access to respected professional ranges including MediHerb, the Herbal Extract Company and Integria Healthcare practitioner ranges.

Herbal medicine is deeply individual. Before recommending herbs, Sarah considers your health history, medications, existing supplements, contraindications and your individual presentation. Where appropriate, a herbal formulation may be dispensed specifically for you rather than relying solely on a generic off-the-shelf wellness product.

Common Questions

What people ask before booking.

What does a naturopath actually do?

A naturopath takes a detailed health history and considers your symptoms as part of a whole picture — nutrition, digestion, hormones, sleep, stress, energy, skin, lifestyle and previous pathology. Recommendations may include personalised nutrition, lifestyle medicine, herbal medicine and nutritional support.

What are Sarah's qualifications?

Sarah completed a Diploma of Health Science before earning her Bachelor of Health Science (Naturopathic Medicine) at Torrens University Australia. She is a member of the Naturopaths & Herbalists Association of Australia (NHAA) and the Australian Naturopathic Practitioners Association (ANPA).

What happens in an initial naturopathic consultation?

Your initial consultation is deliberately unhurried. Sarah listens to your full health story, explores patterns across your body systems, reviews any existing pathology, and then creates an individualised plan. Follow-up consultations allow the plan to be reviewed and adapted over time.

Do I need functional pathology testing?

No. Many people work with Sarah without additional testing. Where clinically appropriate, Sarah may discuss functional pathology through NutriPATH — such as complete microbiome mapping, hormone profiles including EndoMAP and EndoSTAT, or the Nutri-STAT nutritional and metabolic assessment. You do not need to decide before your appointment.

What is practitioner-only herbal medicine?

Practitioner-only herbal medicines are supplied through qualified practitioners rather than retail shelves. Sarah holds practitioner access to professional ranges including MediHerb, the Herbal Extract Company and Integria Healthcare, and may compound an individualised liquid herbal formula for you.

Does naturopathy replace medical care?

No. Naturopathy is intended to work alongside your broader healthcare. It does not replace medical diagnosis or treatment, and Sarah will always encourage collaboration with, or referral to, your medical practitioner where appropriate.

What does Sarah commonly support?

Common areas of focus include women's health and menstrual wellbeing, perimenopause and menopause support, digestive and microbiome health, energy and fatigue, fibromyalgia support, stress and nervous-system support, sleep, skin health and nutritional wellbeing.

How much does a consultation cost?

An initial naturopathic consultation is $135, a follow-up consultation is $110, and a focused 30-minute acute consultation is $75. Bookings are made online through Cliniko.
